Meet Taylor: Therapist & Practice Owner

Hi! I am so happy you are here.

Taylor Stadtlander, LCSW

I’m assuming if you have made your way to this page, you are sick and tired of feeling constantly anxious, controlled by your thoughts. I am here to help.

  • do you have thoughts that make you feel like you are a bad person?

  • do you feel like you are “going crazy” because of the thoughts you are having?

  • do you feel the need to do certain behaviors or else your fears will come true?

  • do you feel things have to be “perfect” in order for you to feel peace?

  • are you tired of your anxiety getting in the way of you living your life how you want to?

Credentials

I received my Masters of Social Work from Ramapo College of New Jersey.

I am trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and use concepts from Mindfulness and Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my work with clients.

My background consists of working with children, teens, college students, and perinatal and postpartum women.

Past Experience

I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, such as a Partial Hospitalization Program, Intensive Outpatient Program, Community Mental Health Center, and several schools across Bergen County, NJ. These experiences have allowed me to get a broad picture of how to best help my clients reach their goals in a variety of seasons of life. I have found my true passion in working one on one with clients where I can foster meaningful relationships and build trust as we work through difficult topics and challenges together.

“Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up.”— Brene Brown

Get help from a trained specialist who truly gets it.

Because of my lived experience with OCD, panic attacks and anxiety—I truly get it and know how it feels to be struggling. That being said, I also know how it feels to overcome OCD and anxiety. Living a life according to my values makes me even passionate about helping others do the same.

As a mom, I know how distracting anxiety and OCD can be from what matters most. OCD and anxiety often cling to what matters most to us, which is why it can feel so awful. As a therapist, I will partner with you to help create a plan and teach you the skills you need to overcome fear and get back in the drivers seat of your life.

 My OCD Story

I was 15 years old when OCD took over my life. Disturbing, unwanted, intrusive thoughts filled my mind . I felt the need to complete hours worth of compulsions in order to keep my fears from becoming a reality. On the outside, no one other than my closest family and friends would have known I was struggling: I was the honors student, Varsity captain, and had a boyfriend and a good group of friends. However— on the inside I was falling apart.

I nervously started ERP therapy and began to heal. I was able to learn tools to help me understand how my brain worked. I no longer felt shame and guilt because of my thoughts.

Since then, it has not been a life without struggle— but between the support I have from my family and friends, the skills I have learned in my own therapy, and the foundation of my faith, I have been able to learn what it is like to live a life where fear is no longer in control.
